academy of innovation

Vicksburg Warren School District | Vicksburg, MS

The Academy of Innovation is a newly designed 70,000 SF Junior High School for the city of Vicksburg. The project design intent was to develop a versatile learning space for 7th and 8th graders, and to provide a facility that is light, modern, and reflective of architectural and artistic qualities.

The building program includes four 5500 square feet versatile teaching spaces, equipped with movable furniture and operable glass partitions. These classrooms have an abundance of natural light, and plenty of open space for teachers to work with students. Other items of the program include a 7000 square foot gym/stage/band hall combination, cafeteria, admin spaces, large central teaching space/circulation core, and courtyard. This school is also planned to have a large wind generating tree, designed by New World Wind.
